First,
the Gameboy was available only on one color: Everybody remembers this
shiny gray but after some time, it was just a step ahead to sell the
Gameboy in lots of different colors. 1997 the system was made even
smaller, so that it became even more portable and nice to carry along:
TheGameboy Pocket was born. This change made the glorious success
even greater.
After
the Release of the Gameboy Color one year later, about 1998,
Nintendo achieved it again, to revolutionalize the Pocket-Game Market,
because now you could enjoy your Games in Color. The Gameboy Color
is equipped with a TFT-Color-Display to show 56 Colors out of 32.000
simultanously. Through the Boom of that small toy Pokémon the Selling-Process
was even easier and reached limits no one had ever thought of.
With the Gameboy Color there came some new devices to accompany the
handheld: With the Gameboy Camera one was able to take pictures
and save them to a small memory card or even print them with the Gameboy
Gameboy Printer on special Gameboy Print Papier with
sticky backside. But even Highscores or Screenshots of the game could
be printed easily.
2001
Nintendo took the next Step in mobile-Playing-Devices: TheGameboy
Advance. The actual Version of the Gameboy is even more handy,
has more power and even more colors. It can display up to 32.000 Colors
at a time and is working with a 32 Bit Processor. For the first Time,
the Sound of the Gameboy was improved, so it could play polyphone
sounds and some more enjoyable music. You can even plug your headphones
into it, so youre not disturbing other people while playing.
But
Nintendo took right another step in the future: With the Gameboy
Advance SP - a Gameboy Advance with Laptop-Design. Technically
there is no difference to the usual Gameboy Advance, but it has one
clean advantage: Its display has its own backlight!
