NES

Lots of players are in charme when talking about the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Actually, it was Nintendos first console for the private market - a device that would not only revolutionize the whole computer-game market but even helped Nintendo out of a big financial crisis.

The release of the NES took two big innovations with it:
First it was the first system with a scrolling game area like you know from Mario bros, which was a great fun for every player. Second it was the great design of the controller that was imitated and used for every other controller invented since then. It was developed only for Nintendo and has a cross to control the direction and two menu-buttons (Start and Select) and two Buttons (A and B) for gaming-interaction. Mostly that was Jump and Shoot.

Games came on a small, handy module that was shifted inside the console. On these modules the whole gaming scene was saved. Two Players were able to play on such a console, simultaneously.
